Just three miles west of downtown Novato, Stafford Lake is one of the more popular Bay Area parks for family picnics, outdoor fun & games or a sunset stroll.
Stafford Lake Park has a relaxed, undeveloped, countryside feel despite its facilities and proximity to the city. It is often home to musical performances and other festivities – see News & Events for upcoming shows.
It’s 139 acres is packed with reasons to put it at the top of your list of Marin’s best parks. There’s shore fishing (catfish, bluegill, and bass), the Terwilliger nature trail, picnic areas with barbecue facilities for groups of up to 500 people, an exciting children’s play structure, lawn areas for games and activities, volleyball, a disc golf course and much more besides (although please note that swimming is not allowed).
Please visit the Marin County Parks website for more information about Stafford Lake.
