In 1968, a twisting 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course and a quarter-mile drag strip were carved into the gateway to Sonoma Wine Country. Since then, Sonoma Raceway has been treating race fans to some of the greatest racing found anywhere in the world.
One of the nation’s busiest tracks, with some form of track activity scheduled an average of 340 days a year, Sonoma Raceway is a year-round motorsports complex. Racing stars such as Mario Andretti, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Al Unser, Dan Gurney, Kenny Roberts, Shirley Muldowney, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and John Force have all left their indelible marks at this unique and historic facility.
Sonoma Raceway hosts several major events, which include NASCAR stock car races, NHRA drag races, INDYCAR, the FIA World Touring Car Championship, a Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge and its very own Sonoma Drift event…but that’s not all! With the right equipment and a passion for racing, even amateurs can test their skill during events like Sonoma Raceway’s very own Wednesday Night Drag races and amateur drifting events. The complex also includes a full, outdoor go-kart track and one of the nation’s top racing schools with world-class instructors, the Simraceway Performance Driving Center.
