3rd Annual Burgers, Brews, and Comedy
Burgers will be sizzling; brews will be brimming, and comedians will be rocking! Just three weeks until the Rotary Club of Ignacio’s Third Annual Burger, Brews, and Comedy Fundraiser at the Jonas Center at the Indian Valley Campus of the College of Marin. Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, everyone is invited to enjoy this special evening and help give back to your community and those in need. Tickets are just $100 a person and sponsorship tables for 8 guests are $1,200 which include special VIP seating and event recognition.
This year’s Fund A Need proceeds will provide additional scholarships for more youths participating in Novato’s youth programs, classes, and recreation programs. The $200 annual scholarship per eligible child will be available through the City of Novato Park and Recreation Department’s Youth Financial Assistance Program, once allocated as high as $30,000: now just $10,000.
Our Live and Silent Auction prizes are amazing! You can enjoy luxurious prime rib dinner. a Cajun seafood boil or a Crawfish/Shrimp Boil and Jambalaya and even a mole cooking class! For wine country buffs we have many tours and tastings in wine country along with many specialties and hard to find wines. Sports fans will enjoy bidding on an autographed Rick Barry basketball and the Super Bowl Tailgate Party! Going out to dinner? We have many Marin restaurant gift certificates.
Past Rotary District 5150 Governor, Laine Hendricks, will be our Emcee for the evening bringing her wonderful wit to the evening. Shawna McNulty, formerly of Beach Blanket Babylon, will entertain us with her spectacular singing accompanied by her piano player. She will be an amazing auctioneer for our great prizes. Two great comedians this year who will make all of us laugh as we enjoy their humor. Joe Klocek has appeared in Comedy Central, has been featured on NPR and NBC, and currently has two comedy shows in San Francisco. Leslie Biagini, a Marin native, loves to entertain crowds with stories of watching other people work and pointing out what they are doing wrong. Exciting live and silent auction items will be available which you won’t want to miss!
tribulations, his subtle satire addresses religious and political hypocrisies, social issues, and-“We’re putting the “fun” back into fundraising to make this evening memorable.” Ivar Olsen, President of the Rotary Club of Ignacio said. “We’ll have great food, great entertainment, and great auction items to round out the evening, with 100% of the net proceeds going to Rotary-sponsored local and international service projects.” Last year $120,000 was returned to the community.
