Trek Winery
Trek Winery is located in downtown Novato, just off of Grant Avenue, where you can enjoy a pleasant boutique shopping stroll. A family-owned and operated winery, Trek launched in 2007, opening their tasting room in 2012. They offer a range of reds and whites, including Napa and Dry Creek Valley sourced Cabernets and Zinfandels, and barrel fermented Chardonnays. At time of writing, a 2010 Napa Valley Sauvignon tops their wine list. The tasting room doubles as a regular venue for live entertainment, with comedy shows once a month and more frequent music nights featuring acts like Marin’s popular guitar duo the Chime Travellers.
Mantra Wines
New to Novato as of the summer of 2017,
Mantra Wines has opened a tasting room on Grant Avenue to showcase their wines, produced at high elevation vineyard site in Sonoma’s Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. Open Tuesday through Sunday, the Mantra Tasting Room is a scenic location to enjoy a flight, glass or bottle of one of their exceptional wines. Visit their website for opening hours and to check if any special events are scheduled.
Pacheco Ranch Winery
Novato’s
Pacheco Ranch Winery is something of a hidden treasure. This small, family-owned and staffed winery is appointment-only when it comes to on site tasting, requesting 48 hours notice. A little forward planning is well worth the effort, as their dry-farmed cabernets are something to be experienced, drawn from vineyards close to the historic Pacheco home.
Ram's Gate Winery
If you’re heading out to experience the Sonoma Valley Crush, or simply enjoying a Novato-based wine tour, a visit to
Ram’s Gate Winery is in order. Our closest Sonoma neighbor, Ram’s Gate is something of a North Bay favorite. Once again, appointments are requested, so plan ahead and make Novato our gateway to a great wine lover’s weekend.
Stafford Lake Park
Another wine lover’s option is, of course, the joys of an impromptu al fresco tasting with some gourmet food pairings. Otherwise known as a picnic. There are no shortage of picnicking spots in the North Bay, including Novato’s beautiful
Stafford Lake Park, with barbecue facilities, nature trails and the Lake itself. Bring a bottle from Trek, Mantra or Ram’s Gate, pick up something good to eat from Whole Foods on Grant Avenue, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a wonderful afternoon.
