Artists Sandi Miot works in the medium of encaustic, which blends beeswax and pigment. She describes it as offering “a sumptuous richness of color and an abundance of texture–a subtle variety of surface markings–contrasts of smooth, silky wax and rusted, pitted metal: order and disorder, chaos and plan.” In this retrospective exhibition, Sandi, who has a studio in the Novato Arts Center, will be showing work created over a 17 year period. Fun-fact : Sandi’s work has been used in set design for a number of TV series and movies, and can be spotted in the hit sitcom Friends.
