In anticipation of the Native American Trade Feast hosted at Novato’s Museum of the American Indian, the museum invites you to observe the construction of a kotcha. Kotchas are a traditional Native American house, built by native tule thatch that covers a framework of wood.
At this event, volunteers with re-thatch the kotcha, allowing attendees to witness a process that took place regularly during the time of the Coastal Miwoks.
This event is admission free. The Museum and store will be open be open from 12:30pm-4:30pm.
