The Film Club from the historic Novato Theater gives movie lovers a chance to enjoy screenings of classic films, and discuss films with industry professionals with their first ever Foreign Film Event. On Sunday Sept. 14th, from 4 to 7pm, at the Trek Winery, The Film Club will host a screening of Elsa and Fred, and a Q&A with Efi Lubliner, a co-founder of the International Film Showcase, an organization that brings acclaimed international films to Bay Area screens.
Elsa and Fred (2014) is the story of two people who, at the end of the road, discover that it’s never too late to love and make dreams come true. It features a number of names that will be familiar to movie lovers, including Shirley MacLaine, George Segal, James Brolin and Christopher Plummer, and a storyline that features Rome’s Trevi Fountain, recognizable to cinephiles from Felini’s La Dolce Vita.
