Louisiana native Clay Davis is a staple of the Bay Area theater scene, artistic director of Alameda’s Altarena Playhouse and director-at-large for the Novato Theater Company. He brings his own adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy to the stage in Novato, drawing on his own Louisiana roots to sprinkle some Cajun-French spice on the production, which is set in 1954 along Bayou Tech near the Tobasco Plantation. Expect Zydeco, honky-tonk and Cajun music, as the story unfolds, in this colorful take on a much-loved classic.
